Oooowee, that snare! <3

Anjovi responds:

Aww yeah! was pretty happy when i found it :D

Sick bars! I would dig a lyric sheet to better follow along. Really thought-provoking lyrics here, takes me in a couple different directions thematically. What was your intent behind these?

Cool beat. Made on an iPad, eh? That's nifty. What wonders await us 20 years down the road, I wonder... Making beats with our brains? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Keep making chunes!

Anjovi responds:

It's more a free verse than anything, but the main themes have to do with respecting knowledge that precedes, giving the old heads and pioneers their respect, the cyclical nature of trends circling back and the old becoming new again (or even how the old is implanted in the art we hear today despite it not being recognized).

Yeah that koala sampler's a beast! it's amazing what you can do with a few daisy chained apps and relatively cheap USB hardware. At this point the future very much looks like an "anything on the table" for me.

Thanks for the love!

I love the drums on this!

Dope flip!

Nice Nicoletta flip!

Sick! It kind of reminds me of a circus at times. At other points, I'm not sure what it reminds me of. Perhaps that's a good thing! πŸ˜‚

Would you be cool with me sampling this in the future?

zybor responds:

Yes please, feel free to do that :3

Sick synths. That engine-like thing is really cool.

I get working in 3/4 can get tricky. I haven't worked with odd time signatures too much over the last 12 years, but I love using triplets when composing hi hat sequences. Maybe start there and see if it makes it easier to work in 3/4?

Cool beat!

Casper responds:

Thanks for the review. This song was made during a challenge where you had to make a song every day for the entire month of january, it doesn't really represent my music and i definitely don't like the sound selection and the melodies lol. I actually did attempt this again a day later after this song ( https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1103670 ) but I focused more on the song sounding good than the time signature.

Damn, the rhyme schemes are sick! Who influences your writing?

This beat is really cool, psychedelic-type 60's drums are dope. Is that a drum break or recorded live and then processed?

I love everything about this. From the tone of the guitars, to the lackadaisical feel. It takes me back to my middle school and high school days. Hours were spent with Sunny Day Real Estate's LP2 and mineral's EndSerenading. I didn't find Low, Codeine, and Red House Painters until a year or two ago, but I instantly fell in love with the aesthetics and execution of hushed tonal work.

Great work, though I do agree with other's views here regarding the ending.

I really dig that guitar tone! Reminds me of an Om track I fiddled with last week.

B-RadGfromOV responds:

Thx. Ibanez semi-hollow guitar with boss blues driver pedal

Grand Bladerunner vibes from this. I love the intermittent music scattered throughout the first half. It's almost as if cars are passing me by on a street in the middle of a metro.

Do the 80's-like sounds in the first half represent arcade machines? That's what they remind me of. As if I'm walking down the sidewalk, a multitude of sounds passing me by. Myself heedless to it all, only one destination in mind.

Love the 'nobody here' sample @4:11. 😊 So evocative of an empty lifeless metropolis. Except there's birds and signs of civilization, like the TV man in the first two minutes. The horn at 5:06.

That faint piano at 5:56 and 6:24 is beautiful. I wish it was louder, but you do you.

Would you mind sharing what the source for the piano and the drum break at 6:36 is from? You can do so in a PM, if you're worried about divulging them publicly.

All around, well done! I really feel like I'm where you want us.

5/5 10/10

Windman03 responds:

Many thanks! I was definitely trying to go for the bladerunner vibe which I've always wanted to explore more. Overall this track is made using a lot of samples. I don't mind sharing them although I don't remember all of them seeing as I made this 2 years ago and lost the project file. The faint piano is The Terminal Show from Silent Hill Homecoming. The beat is just a slowed down Amen Break if I remember correctly. Other notable ones are The Wyoming Incident, Beatfox - Planet Healer, and Homestuck - Doctor. Once again thanks for the praise.
